The Police Power of Size and Anonymity

Consolidation and centralization of various societal powers may be obfuscated by coordinating centralized authority through various subsidiaries allowing a dangerous and possibly abusive incorporation of power to appear benign.

I’d like to shift focus to the widely coordinated unconstitutional suppression of the Occupy Protests via committees under the guise of non-profit instruments, such as the Police Executive Research Forum[i],with logistical support from the House Homeland Security Subcommittee and their ties, with green light coordination through the United States Conference of Mayors.[ii] Naturally, these elements then coordinated with militarized elements within the FBI, DHS, and National Park Service. The important note is that the political apparatus was the coordinating element – the Law Enforcement agencies were acting under orders and influences from “higher,” and the massive Hydra-like contraption our plethora of agencies have become, necessary if one were to desire to obscure information and avoid accountability, fed directly into the results.

From the beginning the FBI, NSA, DHS were pressured to move against the ‘motivations’ of the protest movement via psychological warfare –establishing that the information, and the conclusion of necessary Counter-Insurgency,was collected under the rubric of anti-terrorism before the issue had ever gotten out of hand, as early as August 2011, a month prior to the establishment of the OWS encampment in Zuccotti Park and other Occupy actions around the country.[iii] Inferring, in light of Snowden’s revelation of Federal Domestic Spying programs within the NSA, that we are under much more invasive scrutiny than we ever imagined.[iv] The defense being that the monitoring of what may seem like peaceful, law-abiding protests is a matter of policy.[v]The DHS “Threat Management Division” directed Regional Intelligence Analysts to provide a “Daily Intelligence Briefing” that includes a category of reporting on “Peaceful Activist Demonstrations” along with “Domestic Terrorist Activity.” The coordination through the many agencies against domestic persons can be seen crossing many jurisdictional arenas simultaneously, invariably coming down to the coordination and consent of the respective local jurisdictional authorities via the United States Conference of Mayors and the Police Executive Research Forum.[vi] The true threat, therefore, exists in the anonymity that a mountain of red tape and jurisdictional overlap promises to the corrupt, which can be coordinated through single-interest entities with such obscurity as to have no reasonable accountability for violating Constitutionally Protected rights of our citizens.

The coordination of these multiple agencies and correlational evidence in support of massive domestic spying can find further support by the United States Secret Service Intelligence Division, Prism Demonstrations Abstract that notes the Location of “Wall Street Bull,” the name of the protected entity as, “U.S. Government,” in New York, on the 17th of September, 2011.[vii]Participating groups were listed as Anonymous and OWS. The government coordinated intelligence gathering and associated operations regarding the Occupy movement before the first tent went up in Zuccotti Park on September 17, 2011. Strong correlational evidence suggests that they had prior knowledge of its appearance, which could go two ways, in theory:that they were behind the movement to war game social control and response, or they were and are spying massively on American Citizens and had enough evidence to coordinate ahead of the gathering.

Regardless of their true motivations, the response was devastating and terrifying in a civil and supposedly “free” society. On the 24th of September, 2011, 80 were arrested in New York in connection to the OWS march[viii]and 24 in Boston over the BoA Protest[ix].October 1st the infamous 700 arrested on Brooklyn Bridge[x],on the 5th 25 were busted in Seattle[xi]and 11 in St. Louis[xii]. On the 10th they turned up the heat with 32 arrested with the liberal use of pepper spray in Des Moines[xiii],141 in Boston[xiv],and turned their eyes to D.C. with 4 initial arrests[xv]. On the 13th 41 were arrested in Seattle[xvi],and on the 14th two separate incidents precipitated over 100 arrests in New York with the “Invasion of Times Square.”[xvii]October 16th was a busy day across the country, but the largest bust occurred in Chicago, raking in 175 protesters – the violence of these arrests seeming to increase by the day.[xviii]Chicago, again, laid down a heavy-hand on the 24th with 130 arrests[xix]and 75 were arrested in Oakland, the police employing beanbag rounds and teargas[xx]. 52 were taken in Atlanta on the 25th[xxi],53 in San Diego on the 27th[xxii],and 370 had been rolled up in Tuscon over the course of the week.[xxiii] It seems apparent, thus far, we do not possess“rights” per say, we possess privileges, and we don’t really possess those, they’re leased to us under the condition of good behavior. It goes on and on, the 300 busted in New York, to the beatings, abuses, and sophistication employed against the protesters into the New Year.

We should observe the true issue occurring here as all the pieces are now coming together. It was a wide-spread and organized jurisdictional nightmare between intelligence and law enforcement infrastructures that was coordinated with impressive effect through non-profit organizations to inflict and enforce nation-wide suppression of peaceful demonstrations and the violation and abuse of the Individual Sovereign, the power in America from which all other powers derive. To see the evidence of this logistical nightmare pulled off so successfully and then to turn around and observe what happened on September 11th 2001, I’m forced to take a moment of pause. These successful maneuvers, abuses, and evidences of prosecutorial misconduct thrive in the environment sold to us under the pretense of Justice with ever-expanding law enforcement divisions within most of our Federal Agencies that can be used to obfuscate an otherwise clear design of tyrannical power. With incidents like Scott Olson, Aaron Swartz, and Oscar Grant occurring with little to no punishment against the offending representatives of the State, and with indications that many more crimes of such nature are happening in a much more covert manner, it’s difficult to fully appreciate the gravity of the situation without that bottomless feeling when one faces overwhelming odds.

It’s good to remember a once unpopular move run by a Lawyer named John Adams who won acquittals for the Redcoats that were the perpetrators of the Boston Massacre. Most of the Individual Soldiers were acquitted in favor of indicting the Crown Policy of quartering troops in a city. Adams explained to the Jury: ‘Soldiers quartered in a populous town will always occasion two mobs where they prevent one.’ [xxiv]Instead of focusing on the Individual Soldiers, Adams realized the true problem, the Power those Redcoats represented – thus the Crown. Our current situation in America is little different. Many of the widespread abuses and attacks by police are a part of their function; the true issue is not the officer, but the power the officer represents. That power needs to be limited to a manageable size if the abuses are to be properly controlled and for Justice to be allowed to serve the Individual Sovereign, once again. The dystopian proclivities of what has become of our government evinces a design of yet darker machinations, coercing by perversions of Law considerable power unto themselves, usurping the free people’s Natural Rights in favor of artificial constructions used to obfuscate a clear decay into Tyranny.

This cannot be allowed to continue. The damage inflicted on society will only increase as the government’s size and sophistication proliferate and the corporate backers (bankers) that thrive on them.
